Pastor Jim Sirks is a graduate of Anderson University (IN) and the A.U. School of Theology, where he received a BA in Church Music and an MA in Religious Education. He has served North Avenue as an associate pastor since 1992.
While in Anderson, Jim was a member of the A.U. Wind Ensemble, Male Chorus, and Jazz Ensemble, as well as a number of independent local bands. He worked extensively with local youth ministries and summer camps, and continued to support youth camps upon relocating to Michigan, where he has served as a director at Warner Camp and chaired the state Division of Youth Ministries.
He currently serves on the State Youth Convention and Youth Camping task forces. Jim also co-founded and serves on the Board for the Michigan Student Leadership Institute, a 3-year leadership training program for Michigan teens. He has been a conference speaker at the State and International Youth Conventions, and has led worship for numerous camps and retreats. Jim was ordained through the General Assembly of the Church of God in Michigan.
Jim and his wife Lisa enjoy their four children Jessica, Sarah, James and Nicholas, as well as golf, fishing, camping and music.
